Early yesterday morning, while perusing the Daily Review before work, I was shocked to see the former 7TA5 lying on its side in an Asylum Townsip accident. Although this rig performed yeomen service over the years to not only dept. 7 but most of central and western Bradford County. It had been sold numerous years ago to a local farmer who used it regularly. The operator that was involved in the accident was perhaps one of the best operators of the tanker when it was in service with the fire department.
Sadly it met an end that it shouldn't have. Although no longer a fire service apparatus, it will be missed in the area. Seeing it still in the central county area with its still recognizable front flashers should have been familiar to all. Couple that with the fact that it was one of the five "R's" that operated in the area. Now there are none.
Godspeed my Friend!
