IT HAS BEEN TWO YEARS SINCE ANYTHING HAS BEEN MENTIONED ABOUT THIS TOPIC. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE THIS TRAINING CENTER IDEA STANDS? I FOR ONE WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN THE COUNTY.

The money that was raised by Jack Fecitia & Nancy Mitchell is sitting in a trust account waiting for the project to move forward.

FINALLY. SOMETHING FOR A RESPONSE. HOW MUCH MONEY IS IN THIS TRUST ACCOUNT? HAS ANYBODY MENTIONED WHAT A PROJECT LIKE THIS WOULD COST TO BUILD? WHO IS ON THIS COMMITTEE FOR THE PROPOSED TRAINING CENTER? IS THERE STILL A COMMITTEE? ARE THEY STILL LOOKING AT BUILDING AT THE COUNTY JAIL? OR HAVE THEY LOOKED AT OTHER PIECES OF LAND? WHAT TYPE OF TRAININGS COULD WE DO THERE? COULD WE HAVE LIVE FIRE? WHAT WOULD IT COST US AS A DEPARTMENT TO GO THERE AND TRAIN? IS THERE SOMEONE TO TALK TO AND MAYBE GET STRAIGHT FORWARD ANSWERS FROM ABOUT THIS TOPIC? MAYBE I'M JUST A LITTLE TOO EAGER. BUT AGAIN, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN OUR COUNTY. SOMETHING THAT'S CLOSE TO HOME.

1) Cap locks means you are yelling. 2) As far as I was told the committee and project died long ago. 3) The center was to train Fire and EMS jointly. 4) $4,500 - $5000 last I asked. 5) In order for this to continue I was told that you needed County to be a part of it. 6) A facility with the following would cost almost 3/4 - 1 million dollars to build and require 3 acres.
1. An Adult Learning Center with three classrooms and a Physical Fitness area.
2. A multi-use training/ live fire burn building. This will allow us to train on all facets of operations at a fire scene such as Fire Growth and Development, Fire Attack Methods/ Strategy, Search and Rescue Methods, Firefighter Survival/ Self Rescue, Ventilation Techniques and Ladder Usage and Placement. Additionally it will provide a place for Police forces to train on room entry, entering and containing methamphetamine labs and working with K9 Units.
3. Tower for training on ladder operations, rope rescues, and operational safety in an elevated environment, including ventilation techniques and confined space awareness.
4. Area to conduct vehicle fire and extrication techniques, as well as hazardous materials evolutions.
5. Water sources including hydrants and cisterns to allow for instruction and training in water mechanics and pump operations.
6. Driver training course to develop safe driving skills and techniques.
Far cry from $5000 that is in the fund.......
It is a great idea but it needs alot of support and work.

FIRST AND FOREMOST, I APOLOGIZE FOR TYPING IN CAPS. I DON'T KNOW WHY I DO IT. IT'S JUST A HABIT. NOT YELLING, JUST THE WAY I TYPE AND WRITE. YOU SOUND LIKE YOU HAVE VERY GOOD INFORMATION AND KNOWLEDGE ON THIS TOPIC. KINDA DISAPPOINTS ME TO HEAR THAT THE IDEA, AND COMMITTEE, HAS DIED. I WAS INFORMED THAT IT WOULD COST ROUGHLY A MILLION DOLLARS TO BUILD A FACILITY SUCH AS THIS. THAT IS DEFINITELY A FAR CRY FROM THE $5000 OR SO THAT IS IN THE TRUST ACCOUNT. I'M GONNA DO SOME MORE RESEARCH ON THIS TOPIC, AND SEE WHAT I CAN FIND. MAYBE TALK TO OUR COUNTY REPS AND GET SOME INFORMATION FROM THEM. AND MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, THIS IDEA CAN BE REBORN.

Ok, I was not going to post anything but this sounds like a very good topic now. For starters if we really want to take this and run with someone needs to talk to the state reps like Tina Pickett and Matt Baker. They would be the first people to talk to. Second, what has come into the area recently? Gas wells talk to them and see what kind of money would they be willing to put up. Finally the feds, they have money lots and lots of money for things like this. The items that former bradfordcoems put on there are great. one thing that you can do is use the fire tower for ropes, and ladders, just to cut down some of the costs. Yes research does need to be done. Eric of you need me to check something just let me know or we can even get a committee back together.

I HAVE TRIED CALLING TINA PICKETT'S OFFICE A FEW TIMES. SHE IS NEVER THERE. OR SHE'S IGNORING ME. I'M NOT REALLY SURE WHO TO TALK TO WHEN IT COMES TO THE GAS COMPANIES. BUT, THERE'S ENOUGH TRUCKS RUNNING AROUND. I'M SURE IF I STOP ONE, I COULD EASILY FIND THE INFORMATION I NEED. I THINK A NEW COMMITTEE SOUNDS LIKE A WONDERFUL IDEA. DON'T KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE ON THE OLD ONE, BUT I'M SURE WE NEED QUITE A FEW. ESPECIALLY PEOPLE THAT ARE ALL FOR THIS IDEA, AND WHO REALLY HAVE THE RESOURCES AND KNOWLEDGE TO PUT THIS IN HIGH GEAR. ALONG WITH THE GAS COMPANIES, AND OUR LOCAL, COUNTY, AND STATE REPS, WOULD IT BE BENEFICIAL TO TALK TO OUR PENNA STATE POLICE? WE ALSO HAVE AN EMA DIRECTOR. HOW ABOUT THE HOSPITALS? RANDY WILLIAMS? MAYBE THESE BUSINESSES/ORGANIZATIONS COULD HELP US WITH THE FUNDS NEEDED? I'M NOT GOING TO GIVE UP ON THIS. I"LL KEEP PLUGGING AWAY. MAKING PHONE CALLS. TALKING WITH PEOPLE. WE SOOOOO NEED THIS IN OUR COUNTY. THAD, UPDATE ME IF YOU LEARN ANYTHING NEW. EITHER HERE, OR CALL ME ON MY CELL. 570 423 1116. IF YOU LOSE MY NUMBER, POPPA ROY HAS IT. ;D
