it may have gave her something else to b*tch about, but that dispatcher should be turminated for unprofetionalism, for one and the fact that any dispatcher would think that for this call what is he thinking on the other more seriouse one's.

Was the dispatcher wrong, of course he was. You never say out loud what you are thinking. Was the woman wrong for calling 911 for something so ridiculous, yes. We are not here to raise other people's children. She obviously wasn't in distress considering how quickly she changed gears and attacked the dispatcher.

...and the fact that any dispatcher would think that for this call what is he thinking on the other more seriouse one's. ;D Depends on your definition of more serious. "My ex-boyfriend is on probation and he's at the bar... go arrest him" "My tooth hurts, I need an ambulance" "my aunt in florida hasn't answered the phone for 3hrs... you need to see if she's ok" "so-and-so is spreading rumors about me and I want to press charges" "i just got cut off by a car... no, I dont have his plate or a vehicle description but you better get him before he kills someone" "you need to turn my power back on or i'm gonna sue you" I could go on and on with the ridiculous garbage people call 911 for, thus wasting the resource for those who really need it. The worst part is that it's not a matter of being isolated incidents... I can't count how many calls I took that were similar to the above examples. So yes, I can understand why he didn't take the "I can't take care of my kid" call seriously. Not saying it was right to make that comment. Quite stupid actually. Yet so very funny. Point is, it's easy to demonize the dispatcher for making such an inappropriate joke, but if ya'll knew half the stuff they have to deal with, you'd want to give him a pat on the back for putting that idiot in her place.

I will have to agree. The dispatcher was wrong for making the comment but there are times that they just slip out like that. To send an officer over to take care of her out of control daughter? Come on, give me a break. There has to be at least 20 calls a week that come into the comm center with people saying that there son or daughter is out of control. It is absolutely ridiculous that parents can't control there kids.
