I wasn't sure ware to put this but i think its impotent for this young firefighter
This is an excerpt from the DOJ & USFA Jr FF Chris Kangas Petition:
"This Petition is in Honor of Junior Fire Fighter Chris Kangas of Brookhaven Fire Department who died in the Line Of Duty in 2002. Chris Kangas, was responding to his firehouse on his bicycle to answer a alarm on May 4, 2002 when he was struck by a motor vehicle. He was taken to Children’s Hospital with multiple head trauma injuries and passed away early the next morning May 5th, he was 1 day shy of his 15th birthday. "
As many of you are aware that Jr Firefighter Chris Kangas died in May 2002 while answering a call for the Dept in which he volunteered @ (Brookhaven VFD). The DOJ March 30, 2006. Until this week, has denied the 14-year-old junior firefighter that proud titleof being called a Firefighter, the DOJ also has denied Jr FF Chris Kangas the right to have his name placed on the National Firefighters Memorial.
Jr Firefighters may not be able to fight an Interior Fire or other related positions within a VFD, because of their age. But these Young Men & Women provide the time to help their community as we their Sr Brother & Sister Firefighters do when it is needed.
Let us show our support for a young Brother Firefighter whom died while trying to help his community. I ask for you to please sign the Petition to help show the respect that Chris Kangas deserves by having his name placed on the National Firefighters Memorial. To also pass this message along to our Brother & Sister Firefighters asking them to do the very same.
