Is this team still in existance? I know that three participating departments have upgraded their pump capacities as well as their LDH capabilities. Their is also another department in the mid-county region that has aquired LDH and would be a perfect fit for this team.
I know that officer's change, and in fact have, but we have placed a valuable commodity in our region that should be taken advantage of. That being said, I believe the team should revisit and train accordingly. I would hate to see it called for and an additional "CF" is in the works for the IC requesting the use of this team.
Any thoughts or comments from our mid-county officers?
Tim

if its not in, it should be. why should we have to drag the "valley LDH task force", say to Canton or Troy? Why depleate that area of 5 engines? just food for thought

What a coincidence that this subject has come up. I have just set up a Valley LDH Taskforce training on July 16 @ 0800hrs. I have been told by another chief that a couple of Central Bradford LDH companies would like to watch or participate in this training. The invitation is open. Just let me know who is coming and what they are bringing so we can fit you in the exercise. We'd be glad to do whatever we can to help the Central Bradford Taskforce get up and running. We have some pretty good possibilities of needing their help in the valley. A major fire in the valley will commit our own taskforce at the fire so we will be needing another resource. My email address is wkneebone@stny.rr.com. Just let me know if you want to attend this training. Thanx

I just thought I would check out the posting and I still do not understand if there is or is not a LDH Task Force in Mid-County. If it does exsist, what Departments partisipate?

The taskforce was established three years ago being made up of departments 15, 3, 17, 11, 7, 21 (company) and 25.
The reasoning for starting this team came at the request of the command officers from the ATVFC. Participating departments sat down with members of the Valley task force and heard the pro's and con's to establishing this endeavor. We then had a day long organizational meeting followed by a day long training session. At the time, this team appeared well on its way, but has since fallen to the wayside.
In the interim, pump capacities within the task force have changed and I know of one department in the mid-county that has purchased LDH and would make a good fit on this team.
Because most of the participating departments run box assignments, the use of the mid-county team is of little value to operations of the mid-county. This can be reflected in the use of the valley LDH team during the jobs in Towanda and Monroeton earlier this year. However, we should be offering this service to the Valley (or any other area of Bradford County for that fact) in return.
I realize that schedules are demanding and often time consuming, however why let a good thing fail.
Step up to the plate, boys!

we have been waiting for training with the task force for a while now. I think we could use the practice. If there is a practice in the works or any of the other members would like to have a practice let us know and we would be glad to participate.

I have been posting about the whereabouts of the task force for some time and as Tim has stated it is a good thing to have and a bad thing to waste.

summer is almost over and we really could use the pump time. and it might b a good idea to know exactly where we are going as far as hitting the river for mills pride or even for the packer. this was discussed at one time to do a simulation for mills pride. i think it would b a good idea to try this evolution. let us know if this is something anyone is looking into.

Well, let me see here. As I can remember I set up an LDH Training for the valley departments on July 16th. I also stated that I had heard that there were a few other departments interested in trying with the central taskforce again, so I opened this training up to any departments that would like to train with us and get some experiance. The only department that showed up outside of the valley was department 22. Hats off to those boys for giving an effort. I have set up a state training on October 14th and 15th. It is rural water movement. I have already talked to the instructor and he is going to incorporate a tanker shuttle/relay pumping evolution into this class. Again, this class is open to the entire county, but it is limited to the first 40 students. As Tim said before, step up to the plate boys! Let me know if your interested.
