What is your departments minimum standard for becoming a green tag or interior firefighter?
It seems that this "standard" varies widely from one place to the next.

At Mildred it's IST, Haz-Mat R & I, Essentials of Firefighting (EBM) or equivalent and a Structural Burn Session. It is also currently being proposed that all interior firefighters take the Flashover Simulator at the MAMA grounds in Muncy.
At Montoursville its IST, Haz-Mat OPS (current), CPR, Essentials of Firefighting, and as of June 1, 2006 Firefighter 1, NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 are required to maintain a "Black Helmet" status.

I am not 100% sure but I believe for us its essentials & initial attack or FF1 plus the chief has to sign off that you are capable.
Before a new member can respond to any alarms they have to take 24 hours orientation training thats like a mini-essentials class, department specific of course. It is tought 1 on 1 with the departmental training officer.

Ok
Let me rephrase this one:
What do you think should be required?
What is the current NFPA standard for this if anyone knows?
