When will the fire service learn to forget about lines drawn in the sand and ALL work together for the common good? Really how many times have you heard a department dispatched for a bullshit call that another department unit was already on scene for and could easily handle like a dumpster fire for example? Why not just a courtesy notification to an officer from the appropraite department so they can assume responsability? Nope status quo tells us that another department needs paged with 20 more personel being Whackers to the scene to stand around and chew tobbacco or smoke cigarettes while 2 or 3 people do all the work. What gives?

Hmmm, ok. Interesting. I'm definitely with kim on this one. Can you be more specific?
While we're playing the complain game, flamerthrower... seeing that it doesn't look like you're going away anytime soon, have you built up enough courage to at least give us your credentials? Remember, the title is "When will we grow up"

You didn't miss any particular call, this is an age old problem in the fire service. Not b!tching about any one time, just the issue in general. For those of you who wonder about my credentials, I have been active in the fire service for 15 years and an EMT for 8 years. And really it doesn't matter anyway who I am, we are here to discuss issues not people or departments in particular. I have yet to start a thread about any one call or departments practices.

I guess I have really been out of touch! When did this become a problem in Bradford Co.? I think you need to check the frequencies you have programmed into your scanner, you must be listening to another country or something. Better yet, turn the scanner off and leave the firefighting to those of us who aren't afraid to put our name on things!

The point is that we're not hearing the same thing you are, and until you're a bit more specific, the discussion can't go anywhere.
Identity does matter. The fire/ems service has no place for cowards.

I'm gonna have to agree with the Dr. on this one. You really shouldn't start something that you're not prepared to back up. I know that if I'm going to stir sh*t up, I'm going to put my name on the topic.

As for the topic of this post, I have seen this a few times but I didn't think it was that much of a problem.

I like that idea.. This has been the case for quite some time now. The management team of this board has worked hard to foster good and honest communication on this board since the "firemedic" days. Lets be honest that everyone getting their panties in a bundle now siad things they shouldn't have back then including myself and another administrator of this board. After that incident many people stopped posting and We (canton 1 and myself) had many discusions on how we should handle things in the future to avoid any more confrentations and keep people posting on these boards as they are here for EVERYONE to use as long as they conduct themselves in a manner that do's not provoke personal or slanderous material that could be detrimental to the person(s), department involved or this board. Yes this is a new rule if you consider well over a year something new. I could care less who it is on this board, if they break these rules they will be gone....be it one of you or someone new......name or no name People have been banned from this board in prior discusions and I am sure it will happen agian someday. Furthermore I am tired of being accused of things that I have not done, so unless you all have facts about something let's just move on and talk about something that is productive and not destructive in nature. Yes I did do something like this in the past, my mistake and I admitted then that I was wrong and I do beleive that I have earned the right not be accussed agian with my conduct. None of you live in glass houses!! All of your assumptions are going to do nothing but set this board back another year because of false accusations and finger pointing. I have siad my peace on this one and I do not intend on entertaining any more foolish discusion on this agian.
