Finally our county commisioners have gotten it right in putting a management team together that will enable Bradford to go forward instead of one forward and two back. Hands down, I believe that Kim was the perfect choice and fit for the position he accepted. I believe that with his background in the 911 operations as well as his extra curricular experiences within the county give us a manager that finally has the resources and knowledge we so desparately need.
Although I seriously question Robbie's credentials to just jump into the spot, skipping over many who have or currently work within our 911 system, I believe that with his background as an active member of the 911 committee as well as a pro-active chief in this county is worth the merit.
It has been asked if Robbie's appointment is politically motivated, due to Sayre and a vast majority of the valley against the current re-addressing. I highly doubt this as Robbie is a very active and vocal part of the Sayre FD. I believe kept his council up to date with the current changes, particularly when he was in the position of fire chief, answering directly to the council. You do not become the chairman of the 911 committee or the Bradford County Chiefs' Association on a whim. Being both, I am quite sure he passed on all necessary information to his Fire Board, which is chaired by a council person, as well as keeping his borough manager, Dave Jarrett apprised of the situations from these meetings. To say that he didn't or that the council and administration was un-informed is wrong.
Robbie is not now the only county official that lives in the confines of Sayre Borough. Our current spokesperson of the commisioners, Nancy Schrader, is also a borough member. In fact she is one of my neighbors. Being a borough resident, with knowledge of affairs affecting her borough, why did she not attend a meeting and inform the powers that be. I wish both my brothers the best of luck with their new assignments. I think that this tandem has the possibility to put our emergency services to the next level. I am proud to be associated with both and even prouder to call them my friends.
In conclusion, I was extrememly criticial of our former 911 administrator, upon her appointment. I believe she was given a huge amount of baggage to carry and she did the best she could do, given the situation. I believe she did a very good job, having to deal with idiots like myself. While she is now enjoying a new life and thinking of other things than Bradford County, I am still trying to pry my foot out of my mouth.
Best wishes, Karin. I applaud your effort and hope you well, plus I apologize for being critical. You proved me wrong.

The following is strictly my opinion only. I am extremely satisfied that Kim got the position of 911 Coordinator, he was the only one qualified for that position. The position for Assistant 911 Coordinator is another story. That position was never posted internally or to the public, no one other than Mr. Repasky was ever given a chance for that job. If you look at the qualifications for that position, yes he is sorely lacking. Believe it or not it takes more than being on a commitee to work in a 911 Center, much less attempt to run one, just take a look at what the job requrements are. Ooops, sorry, were up until now.

I don't think that anyone questions Mr. Repasky's ability as a leader in general, he is well respected in the emergency service community of bradford county and surrounding area's. I to think Robert has alot to offer, but not in this capacity. I do however think that that his appointment was politicaly motivated, especially since he does not meet the qualifications for the job. Or maybe its because several people who are qaulified to apply didn't get a chance to do so. The county certianly left room on this one for speculation didn't they? The downfall to this is now Kim and his staff will have to take several hundred hours to train a "supervisor" from scratch that will have very little experience as a dispatcher. Then this person is going to be training new dispatchers himself (at least past asst. coordinators performed this task) and handing out discipline to these same people who have trained him knowing that he does not fully understand the job they are performing because he never really did it himself.

I recently spoke with a few CFO's and political leaders from the valley and all stated the same: Having Robert out of the area, even if for 8 hours a day, is the best thing for the valley. I would suppose that Moe, Larry and Curly (Our County Commissioners) have actually listened to their constituants and did the proper thing.
As much as I love Kim as both a peer and mainly my brother, It is he that must look each and every dispatcher in the eye and explain to them why Robbie is more qualified than themselves to hold a position that would in essence be a promotion.
As much as I feel sorry for those that have been slighted by these events, I will stand by the feelings of those that I both work and vote for.......
Our problem has now become yours!

Speaking for myself only...and as one of the 7 qualified dispatchers that were never given the chance to apply for the opening, I can honestly say that I was totally amazed at the recent decision made by our "Leaders". According to the job description that we all have copies of up here, I can only assume that this WAS all politically motivated. From what I was told in regards to him being hired is that "they' wanted someone with computer knowledge and someone with outside opinions...ok...how about a DISPATCHER with QUALIFICATIONS from the outside? Also...guess that shoots all of our possibilities of advancement in this place right in the @ss too huh?
