Now don't get me wrong, but what if, and this is just a thought mind you! What if the county in whole, went to standard wide 5'' or 6'' threads on hydrants/dry hydrants so depts that are called county wide are compatable! Now once again, don't get me wrong by saying this, but with having two mutual aid depts in a district and having to pay $200-$700 for adapters , which mind you they are not getting cheaper, to fit thier hydrants or thier dry hydransts is outrages! My question is to all who responds that represents in Bradford County...would a standardization be an issue? Therefore any one in bumb**** egypt that may be called to cover up and they just happen to have a second call in that district, they may not have to worry about being able to get the job done! I know depts have cover-ups specialized...its been like that for years, but would it hurt to do it...I am very interested in this post...any positive and negative feedback would be greatly appreciated.
