It has been rumored that a failing BLS service recently asked an ALS service in another part of the county to bring a truck into their territory, instead of asking their local ALS (or any neighboring BLS) for assistance. Although it is also rumored that the outside ALS service declined, it doesn't take away that the idea is just plain dirty. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can see no practical purpose to the request other than to create bad blood. It's childish crap like this that gives a black eye to EMS. Maybe someone in the know can clarify the story a bit. I'd hate to think this is a product of the immature "they're out to get us" garbage that the alleged BLS service continues to spread. They need no help running themselves into the ground.

Rumor From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A rumor or rumour (see spelling differences) is a piece of purportedly true information that circulates without substantiating evidence. The information content/payload of rumors can range from simple gossip to advanced propaganda techniques.
Classically, rumors spread from person to person by word of mouth, as in gossip.

I used "rumor" lightly. It was confirmed by a reliable source up in your neck of the woods. I was just trying to pry a little info out of anyone who knows more details, and get opinions from other providers on the general topic.

In response to the thread, "Rumor..", I can say that it is not a rumor. That conversation actually took place. I think the BLS agency is finally seeing the writing on the wall and trying to take someone out with them. It is dirty and it is wrong. If said BLS agency needs help, there are closer agencies that would more than likely be willing to help them out. This BLS agency needs to think of the community that they are serving. Think of the people of the community like customers. Keep the customers happy, and they will keep coming back for your services. If customers don't like the service they receive (or just don't receive service), they will look elsewhere for another provider.

I doubt the intention was actually to bring down anyone else... definitely intended to be a blatant disrespect to the other services, specifically the local ALS. If the leadership put as much effort into the performance of the service as they do trying to screw everyone they cant get along with, they wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.
