Hats off to the S. Waverly and Athens Twp. fire dept. on an incredible save on Wednesday Nov.3rd. Not very often does a fire dept. save a trailer with flames showing upon arrival. Nice job, very good response.

Must be the tanker from Athens Boro did it. But a good stop is always admired.

I'm sorry...I don't think we have ever met...what dept are you a chief at? Oh, and...when Tioga Cty called the other night for a tanker, they said, "Call Athens for a tanker" They did NOT say Boro or Township! Sometimes we have problems with our Crystal Balls down here in the basement.

Hey City Girl, Don't be so testy, just pokin a little fun. Not a chief with a regular fire department but am a member of 4. Am a chief of a local industrial emergency response team that is available and has been called to assist in the county. Based on the call sign you probably know which outfit it is. Sorry if I offended.

Oh children----- I think that it should have given a clue when you looked at the screen and realized that Athens did not have a tanker listed to figure they did not want Athens Boro. But who am I, just another loser dispatcher. There Manville--that should get um off you back and onto mine. Remember this is a board to learn and have fun not attack---either side DOES THIS MEAN NO OREOS FOR ME?? I think you know what this means Kelly

Sometimes we have problems with our Crystal Balls down here in the basement. Over all, I would have to say that our county dispatch does a GREAT job. Mistakes do and will happen. They can't know what equipment that every department has at all times. They do their best to deliver a service that is mostly overlooked and misunderstood. I think the dispatcher might have just punched the tones as quickly as possible to get a tanker out the door and new that Athens had a tanker, well, Athens Twp does. This was a trailer fire, 7-14 minutes is usually all the time you get to do any type of save on them. Just remember, "your alarm" may not be the only one they are attending to at the time. Sometimes it can be a very organized confusion. [glow=red,2,300]
TO ALL YOU DISPATCHERS, YOU ARE APPRECIATED. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! [/font][/glow]
