On Feb 22 at approximately 20:30 hours Sullivan County Stations 57, 58, and 53 were dispatched to Pough Road, Cherry Twp. for a structure fire. Chief 57 (S. Hope) on scene approx. 3 minutes later reporting structure fully involved, and added an additional engine/tanker from Station 50. Engine 58 was to establish a fill site for tanker shuttles at Bundle's Pond approx 1 mile from the fire scene, all other units to the scene.
Due to the slippery road conditions at the time Squad 57 was the only piece of apparatus able to navigate down the snow covered driveway and 5" supply line was laid into the scene. Moments after crews arrived on the scene the roof began to collapse and the decision to make this an exterior attack was made. Crews from 57 and 58 initiated an aggressive defensive attack but the structue was a total loss. There were no injuries reported and the last crews departed the scene around 00:15 hours.
