At apprx. 05:15 hrs on 2/22/05 Waverly/Barton personel were alerted for a possible garage fire located on Straw Hill Rd in the town of Barton.
Upon arrival of Waverly Chief 1371 (Don Howard) a working fire was confirmed of a 2 Car Garage with a large attached workshop, heavy smoke and fire visible from the front and rear of the workshop area, extended into tha garage. It was also reported that several cylinders of welding gas were in the structure. An aggressive attack was performed using multiple 1 3/4" handlines to bring the fire under control quickly. Water supply was established via tanker shuttle from a nearby Dry Hydrant. Most units returned to service by 10:00 hrs after overhaul and assisting the fire investigation team.
