At apprx. 14:00 hrs on thursday 12/15/05 Waverly/Barton Fire was dispatched to a reported working barn fire in the village, a firefighter was on scene seconds after dispatch and Nexteled Chief 1371 of the heavily involved workshop area of the barn. 1371 called additional units bringing an engine from Sayre, Athens Twp. with manpower, Greater Valley EMS and RIT to the scene.
Engine 1302 quickly arrived on scene stretching 200 ft of supply line from the plug, 2 - 1 3/4 handlines went into action as engine 1303 stretched an additional 1 3/4 line to the rear of the building supplied by a hydrant close by. The fire was quickly knocked down. Extensive overhaul was needed due to the contents of the workshop. Units remained on scene for apprx. 1 1/2 hours. Another job well done by all.
