Wysox Fire & EMS responded to a reported brush / car fire this afternoon. Wysox 2 called responding and requested that Department 15 - Towanda and Department 25 - North Towanda be put to station. Wysox 2 arrived on scene to find a small trash fire with some leaves burning along with 1 junk car. He recalled both Department 15 & 25 at this time. 21AT1, 21TA5, and 21SQ7 responded along with 21A1. The Attack truck, with the help of the tanker as a tender, were able to put the flames out in the vehicle and wet down the surrounding areas. There were no injuries reported during the call.

gary, do you not have faith in your fire department? why put mutual aid in there quarters until you find out what you have? there are to many people that try to run a scene from 5 miles away

Well, looking back it was kinda overkill. Here was my theory at the time. It was in the middle of the day and I was not sure how many firefighters I would have on the road. I knew it had one car on fire already and I was not too sure if they were completely junk cars or not and it was threatening another. I also knew that there was a lot of dead tall grass and woods right behind the garage where it was at. With the wind and all the rest, I called for the Mutual Aid. I guess I am getting cautious in my "old" age!
