I am new to the fire service in Bradford County, recently becoming a member of Department 15 Towanda Fire Department so I hope I am not over stepping anyone by making this post.
Early this morning around 2:20am Department 15 was dispatched to the old Bern Furniture building on 400 block of Main Street in Towanda Boro for a reported Structure Fire.
When I arrived on scene at 2:22am heavy smoke was showing from the 3rd floor windows, which had already broken out.
2:22-2:25am Towanda-1 arrived on scene called for a thrid alarm.
At 2:30am exactly heavy flames were coming from the second floor which was fully involved. At this time Towanda Engine (unknown which one as I don’t know all unit numbers yet) had arrived and hit the hydrant by Fairchild’s Hardware.
At 2:32am we had advanced an attack line to the front of the building and started an attack to the second floor via the windows.
By 2:33am Towanda's tower was up and using the monitor at the end of the ladder attack via third floor windows was initiated as well as another attack line being used in the second floor windows.
By 2:35am an attack using the monitor at-top the engine in front of the building, was supplying water though the second floor window.
This was the last of my notes and photographs as I then started pulling more lines and being a "runner".

I have not heard yet, but has the cause of this fire been determined yet?
