Just after 1700hrs on Monday, Troy Fire Dept. was toned out for a structure fire. Initially it was believed to be on Leona Rd., but was later confirmed to be on Springfield Rd. The building was under renovations the owner was hoping to open an ice cream shop.
Troy1 arrived on scene and reported the building half involved. Troy's engine arrived shortly after, pulled a line and began an exterior attack. A pond was set up in front of the engine and a tanker shuttle was established.
The buidling was two stories high with an attic space. The second floor had extra high ceilings which made getting to the attic space harder. Interior attacks were made on the two main floors and finally into the attic. The building was a complete loss (from my perspective).
On scene were: Troy (2 Engines, 1 Tanker) Smithfield (1 Engine, 1 Tanker) Ridgebury (2 Tankers, 1 Rescue) Canton (1 Ladder Truck) Western EMS (1 Ambulance).
If anyone has anything else to add (especially if I missed any apparatus) - go for it! I think everyone did a great job!

From far away here in New Jersey it looked like the fire was in the walls on side "A" division 2 of the structure (picture in the paper online). Am I correct? Looks to be you guys are gettin hammered lately!
We have been taking a POUNDING down here! Early Sunday morning we lost 74-82 Mechanix Ave. 2.5 story row with common loft 3 alarm (strips our City). And at 13:42 hours today I was in the Directors office as 51 Grand Street came in. I looked at him and said "careless cooking" He said "probably" Then within a couple of seconds our Training officer comes running downstairs and tells us we better look out the window. Boy were we guessing wrong. 2.5 story single heavy fire sides "A-B-C & D divisions 1 & 2. Exposures on Side "B & D. Fire under controll at 13:56 checking for hot spots. FM-45, police & prosicutors office on scene investigating. I feel bad that FM-3 (921capt) is working on a special project today!
Skated past another one. This stuff is gettin old!
