Bradford County: Police searching for missing Towanda woman

WYSOX - Pennsylvania State Police are seeking the public's assistance in their attempt to locate a missing Towanda woman.
Police explained that 45-year-old Karen M. Dye was last seen at the CVS Pharmacy in North Towanda at 11:25 a.m. Thursday.
At approximately 2:45 p.m. Friday, Dye's vehicle - a 2001 Maroon Dodge mini-van was found parked with the engine off at the Wysox boat launch with her personal belongings inside with the ignition key located on the front seat, police said.
Dye's vehicle was observed parked at the boat launch at approximately 5 or 6 p.m. Thursday by passing motorists, police said.
Dye is described as a white female with brown eyes, brown hair and a medium build. She is 5-feet-tall and wears glasses.
She is most likely wearing blue jeans, a shirt, a light coat or jacket and sneakers, police said.
Police are asking anyone who was at the Wysox boat launch between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. Thursday to contact the North Towanda barracks at (570) 265-2186.
Anyone observing or knowing the whereabouts of Karen Dye are urged to contact the Pennsylvania State Police immediately.
A search of the immediate boat launch area was conducted by Wysox fire personnel at 6 p.m. Friday with negative results, police said.
In addition, the Greater Valley Emergency Medical Services rescue dive team performed a limited search of the boat launch area with negative results, police said.
The search will continue today, police said.

Members of the Wysox Fire Department and the Sayre Rescue Dive Team have been searching for a missing Towanda woman who was last seen on Thursday.
Karen M. Dye, 45, of Towanda was last seen at approximately 11:25 a.m. on Dec. 7 at the CVS Pharmacy in North Towanda, according to police.
Dye is 5 feet tall and medium build, having brown hair, brown eyes and glasses and was most likely wearing blue jeans, a shirt, a light coat or jacket, and sneakers, said police.
Her vehicle, a 2001 maroon Dodge Mini-Van, was found parked with the engine off at the Wysox Boat Launch at 2:45 p.m. on Dec. 8. Her personal belongings were found inside the vehicle, and the ignition key was found on the front seat, said police.
Passing motorists reported having seen her vehicle parked at the boat launch around 5-6 p.m. Thursday, said state police.
Anyone who was at the Wysox Boat Launch between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday is asked to contact the Towanda state police at (570) 265-2186.
Anyone knowing or observing Dye’s whereabouts is asked to call Towanda state police immediately.
According to state police, the search for Dye will continue on Saturday.
