On 10/21/2007 at 01:51 the 911 center received a call at 204 Redington Avenue of a reported structure fire. Dept 16, Western EMS and Troy Boro PD was dispatched. Upon PD's arrival at 01:53, 166 stated that there was fire pushing through the front door. At 01:58 16 Engine 1 and Tanker 2 arrive and start making an initial attack. After more personnel arrive on scene Dept 16 hand laid approx. 200 ft of LDH for water supply to the closest hydrant. Turns out this was row housing with about 11 units in it. Above this building was a common attic. The fire started making its way to another apartment on the east side of the structure, but was quickly extinguished. The fire damage was held to the one apartment with smoke and water damage extending to the adjacent apartments. This was a very good stop for all that was involved. Each and everyone of the firefighters on scene did a very good job. This had potential for turning into a major incident with alot of people left without homes. Assisting Troy Fire was Canton Fire and Western EMS.
