Drove through Monroeton this afternoon and had to detour off of 220 due to a house fire. From what I saw on side C, it looked like a good knock down of one room with hydraulic ventillation in progress. Nice Job guys and gals.... anyone have more info?

Thanks Sean, What we had was an extension cord that caught the carpet and mattress on fire. The room was starting to boil when 7engine3 arrived. 7engine3 was the first to arrive with 7tanker7 right behind. 7engine1 caught the hydrant on church street with franklindale's engine holding at our station if needed. The crew on 7E3 went in and did an excellent job putting out the fire with minimal damage.

Great Job on a good knock! This one was close to home, actually right across the street from my home.
Am interested though in why the concern for tanker companies when there was a blue top app. 300' from residence, plus the green top (which was taken by E1) off of Church St.
I can certainly understand needing to establish a water supply, even for a room and content, but with a viable municipal water system available, Monroeton having more than enough 5", why the need for calling in mobile water sources?

Howard, it's always good to see an officer acknowledge the work that his crew does. Good job to all involved

The initial attack crew was Dave Kerrick, Shawn House and two others from neighboring departments. At that time of day manpower can be an issue as you all know. So sometimes you do what you have to to get the job done. Like I said before they did an excellent job. I hope this answers your question.
