Why is it that there can be good schools in Lycoming County twice a year and in Tioga but Bradford COunty can not get the responce??
What will it take to get people take classes right here so we dont have to go out of county.
Can we get someone to handle ALL trainings in the county to set everything up. I know we pay someone or atleast used to pay someone to do it. The county used to pay $3000.00 do have it all handled for us. It used to go to EMA or LEPC. I would like to see that done again.
It would be so nice to have one person do ALL (scheduling/getting the instructors/mailings) of the trainings. I think we could get a good thing going if one person or agency handled it all. If a fire chief could call one place to have a class set up and get the word out it wopuld be so awesome. It would also serve as a good place for instructors to get more hours.
This might even be a good avenue to set up cross training with EMS/Fire even for non certified stuff

Right now there is no paid position to handle this. Support for this should go through EMA Director.
I'd like to see some of the courses done on an annual basis.

Where did the funding go?
Can we get it back?
Why cant we get 911 to support it??? With the cooperation from EMA/LEPC/EMS???
I know there was funding for this. I know $3,000.00 is not alot but it is a substantial amount for someone to handle things like this.

What happened to the 3,000 dollars. Who is responsible for the county training. Several months ago we discussed the concept of a county training center. Mr. Flynn and I went to the chiefs meeting and were met with great response. The county firemens association meeting was less desirable. I believe we need a county training center. The money is out there. This would be a cross agency facility. Police, Ems, Fire would all be included. The sheriffs (Mr. Shuster) are interested. I set up a final meeting before we pitched this to the county government. One person showed up. That is where it stopped. I believe this needs to be a paid position within the 911 center. The person needs the contacts and time to run a quality program.

I'm pretty sure Jim Vajda told me he was able to keep that money in this year's budget

I would have to agree with everyone here. Why, where, who and how. It would be nice to have local training again in our own county. As Kim suggested even cross training Fire/EMS even if its uncertified. Now if someone grabs the BULL by the horns and Gits R Done. ;D
