The Athens Township Volunteer Fire Company will be hosting a waterball tournament later this summer. Hopefully, this will be an annual event. This will be open to any organization that will like to send a team or group of teams. The telephone poles have been delivered to the fire station and the construction will be underway shortly. As I said before, we hope to make this an annual tournament depending on the turnout that we get this summer. Please feel free to submit any comments, questions, or advice that anyone might have on this venture. As soon as the "waterball tournament facility" is constructed, fliers will be printed and mailed showing the date of the tournament. Also, if anybody has any information on any other waterball tournaments this summer, please let me know as dept. 24 has a few teams that are eager to play. Thanx

The information that I received stated that the cable is to be 12 feet off of the ground and the distance from center to either stop point is 30 feet. So of course the total length (point to point) would be 60 feet. There is no set distance for the poles. Since the total distance of the stop points is 60 feet, we are going to set the poles at 85-90 feet so the teams won't be backing into the poles. We are going to use cable clamps at the 2 30 foot stop points. The average length of time for a round is 3 minutes. The info that I received on the net used 3 to 5 minutes. I think 5 minutes is a little long, so we are going to try 3 min. The hose lines used are 1.5" and have straight bore nozzles with an average of 125 psi. Teams are usually 3 or 4 people. I have played with both a 1/4 keg and a tether ball. We are going to set ours up so we can use either or without taking the cable down with the keg stored behind one of the stop point cable clamps and the tether ball will hook to the cable with a "D" ring. I hope this helps a little. Let me know how you're doing with it, and also when you get it set up, dept. 24 would love to come out and play.
