As probably all of you know, Bradford County is still expanding its radio coverage by means of utilizing some of the new state towers and building some towers. Just an update on their status:
1) We have moved Police, Fire 1 (dispatch/repeater) and Med 9 to the new 250' State tower at Mount Pisgah earlier this year. The Game Commission tower has EMA, Fire 3-6, Med 10 and Med 4-7 on it. The fire 3-6 radio and the Med 4-7 radio also have fire 1 and Med 9 in them as a redundancy. They just won't repeat.
2) We have moved Fire 1, Med 9 and a fire 3-6 receiver to the new 330' State tower on Robwood earlier this year.
3) We have just received the equipment shelter and placed it at the new 180' State tower on Round Top. All current radios at the 140' RPH tower will be moved here. We still need electricity and antenna work here.
4) We have just received the equipment shelter for a new county-owned 170' tower on Bridge Street. County maintenance is preparing the site for the shelter and the tower. This will have Fire 1 and Med 9, plus a police, fire 3-6 and Med 4-7 receiver on it.
5) We have just ordered the equipment shelter for the new tower in Rome township. This site will basically have the same equipment on it as Bridge Street.
Both 170' towers for Bridge Street and Rome have been ordered and should be here in approximately a month. All the communications and microwave equipment has also been on order for some time. I HOPE to have both of these sites and the Round Top site on the air before the weather makes it impossible to get to for the winter. These sites have already taken FAR longer than I had hoped, due to issues completely beyond my control.
Additionally, we are currently in negotiation with a landowner in Canton Township for another 170' tower there, hopefully by this time next year. Lastly, we plan on erecting a tower somewhere in Ridgebury Township during the current 3-year 911 plan. All the new sites are being built with simulcast-capable equipment.
If anyone has any questions about a specific project, give me a shout.
