Just wondering why , when a new tower is built and put into service, one of the existing towers is taken out of service? I didn't know if it was the cost of operation, or if the old tower just became a repeater. It just seemed to me that the more towers there were, the less chance of the dead spots. Just asking. Not too knowledgable on this, so I may be sticking my foot in my mouth.

In Bradford County, we usually do not take any towers out of service when we add new ones. The exception to this was Warren tower, which was not taken out of service, just no longer used as the primary tower for the area, due to a limited amount of space on console equipment. The tower is still fully functional and can be used as a backup, or by special request. Simulcast will be completed this year, and Warren tower will be included in that project, making full use of that tower.

The 911 Center does use Bridge St. for Franklindale area and that does not make any sense to me. THe Towers that should be used are either Pisgah or Robwood which both work very well for you. The reason I would guess that we use Bridge St. and Pisgah for you is because of your RESCUE MUTUAL Aid.
If you have trouble getting your pages from Bridge St, I would make sure your chief contacts the 911 Center and speaks with Karin. I would make sure you know what parts you have trouble off that tower when you call just to verify that it is not a pager issue.
