To the administrative team, I have noticed that this board has a "karma" feature for members to rate each other. This obviously is not a fair and impartial feature since I have been a member of these boards for only a few months and already I have a -12 karma...........but I haven't started any political battles or caused any trouble. This was a new feature added during the last upgrade by Proboards. It can be de-activated across the boards. I left this option open for all to see how it played out and will continue to do so until I have heard enough complaints about it.
Personally, I wouldn't sweat the small stuff. I haven't even checked mine. But based on the fact that I have provoked both personal and more importantly political battles, I should have a -1000. I have read most of your posts and yes they can be construed as controversial to some. That being said though, I welcome such as that is what this board was meant to do, get communications flowing, as each has their own individual opinion.
As far as the karma thing, let it ride a while and we will revisit the idea of keeping it in a couple of months.

It doesn't surpise me that you have a -12 rating. If you can't put your name to your comments, then your comments are worthless. Why do you have to hide behind a nickname?

Now you're just drawing attention to yourself.. BTW it's down to negative thirty-four. I didn't take notice to it at first. The karma was an option before the recent update, as I seen it on the other seven forums I set up. I just chose not to use it during the periodic updates I make. I forgot to take it off one site, and too many people whined about it. Usually the same reason, they can dish it out, but can't take it. Problem is, you can't gain respect for your opinions by hiding behind the anonymity of the internet. At least not on this kind of site.

Between the politics and the fact that everybody has their own opinion, a person has to have pretty broad shoulders to stick around in the volunteer fire service. If you don't have broad shoulders, you won't be there long. These boards are the same way. Some people may not like your opinion, but if they're grading your karma, then at least you know your opinion is being heard. That's my view anyway.
