The next round of SAFER grants is comming up soon. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has alloted $108 million dollars this year to SAFER. This round of grants is geared towards beefing up man or womanpower in the fire service. The grant is for : "the hiring of firefighting personnel and incentives for volunteer recruitment and retention". Sounds like a golden oppertunity here. Now the question is: who is willing to take on the challenge of writing this grant? There is a lot of money out there you just have to ask for it. Now three weeks ago I thought that grant writing was not in the realm of my duties. WRONG! I was tasked by our Director to do just that. So I now have 1 grant (A.F.G.) under my belt and I gotta tell ya it realy wasn't that hard. So if anybody up there takes on this challenge I will be gald to give them some long distance advice. Check out the web site: www.firegrantsupport.comGood luck!

If anyone is interested the online application should be out by May 30th.
The horse (not dead or thrashed) is let to the water. Now will it drink?
Go for it!
