It is absolutely horrible in Ulster. Hopefully some adjustments will be made before someone gets hurt.

this upgrade may be good in the end but at this time it causes large confusion when you can only completely here the first two words if that. i agree with mckee some adjustments need to be made before someone gets hurt

Maybe when simulcast gets working well and all of the bugs are worked out the county can reveiw the policy manual for improvements in the dispatch procedures to speed up the dispatch's etc., make things a little more efficient. It just seems to me that a few things could possibly be done to make things a little faster and smoother if the dispatchers aren't worried about switching towers and paging off 2 or 3 different towers each time. Maybe they would only have to activate the tones just once and repeat the information twice. Just an idea.....what do you think?

good place to put this post Scott......... Maybe you could come out and fix all the issues with EMS/Fire/Police or whatever. I see you have the fix for most everything---maybe you can come up with a fix for being a *** on the radio. You really need to look in your own backyard before trying make life bad for every single dispatcher..........

You really need to look in your own backyard before trying make life bad for every single dispatcher.......... Not my job to fix the issues, that would be yours and the rest of the management at the county level. I only was making a suggestion, not being sarcastic. But now that you mentioned it, if some of the dispatchers didn't make so many errors I wouldn't have nearly as many chances to make comments. And its not been to every dispatcher, just the ones who are tards or give me attitude. I have not brought this subject up because it will only cause problems, but don't get all up in arms because some of your people can't handle their jobs and their mad at me for expecting the correct information. And that will be all I have to say about it!!

I can understand where both of you are coming from on this but I have to say with out know all the information that I agree with 911wacker only because if the dispatcher gives incorrect information, hits wrong tones does not speak clearly this only delays and makes are jobs harder...... I'm not saying a dispatcher's job is easy by no means but if we screw up we take the heat for it. Theres no reason why a dispatcher should be any different at all......... I'm un sure how many of you have listened to lyco fire but our dispatchers are great not only do they get the call right they have the map pulled and have detailed directions for us on the spot.Lyco dispatcher also dispatch Sullivan county and have no problem doing both and keeping the system flowing!
Now the next thing as you two both being a figure of authority on this board I personally think that both of you should act a lil bit more of your age and not your shoe size! If either of you didn't notice there is alot easier ways to get your points across then by making your self look like kids. Keep low and Stay Safe, Justin

Exactly....dumb dispatchers... they get perfect information from callers, deal with extremely courteous and intelligent field units, know every single road in the county, know every single person in the county, understand that every person on the radio is the most important person on the radio, deal with extremely understanding news reporters who write very fair and accurate articles about them, never get swamped, and most of all, they have that cool little chrystal ball up there that tells them everything everyone wants to know..... and they still can't do anything right.
They should all be fired.

Ok, First of all................ I apologize for any hard feelings I have created on this post...
I can not and will not tolerate a DIRECT attack or name calling from anyone to anyone... For this reason---I have banned two people for it, and I would hope they understand. This board is a great thing to get discussions going and I have been known to spark a few of them. If I have ever made a DIRECT ATTACK on anyone let me know and I will leave it now.
Those that have posted or tried to post on this last few days do not know the whole story and never will. TRUST ME---YOU DO NOT KNOW....
Navy---If you think that we do not do our best at the 911 center to get the correct info you are very mistaken... IT WAS GIVEN AS THE CALLER GAVE IT!!!!
You can not compare Lycoming to Bradford in many aspects. DIRECTIONS, ADDRESSES are the same in both counties since the readdressing is not completed in Bradford as it is in Lycoming and Sullivan. I was not letting a disptacher not deal with the mistakes----MY POINT EXACTLY----THE DISPATCHER gave the info as it was given----

We still go by the "turn left by the red barn, go 3 clicks down the road and turn right where that house burnt about 15 years ago, the people say the ambulance was there once about 9 years ago, you should know where it is" terminlogy when trying to find an address.
