Welcome to all!
I am Timothy Flynn and have been in the service since 1980. I am currently a firefighter with Dept. 7 and have held the ranks of Lieut., Ass't, Deputy and Deparment Chief. I spent 9 years with the Progress Fire Company in Dauphin County (hence the cool tower avatar) and worked the ranks there. I went from whale slime (probie) to engine boy, rescue tech, truckie, chauffeur, Lt., Captain and finally Ass't Chief (chief322).
As most of you who know me, I am a Command nut and self professed truck op's god! Nothing personal but engine boys flow the water and truckies walk on water!
I hope you all enjoy this site and get good benefits from it.

Hi. I'm Sue Beach, Captain of Smithfield Ambulance, senior 911 Dispatcher, and I hang around with the buckets boys of Department 3. I think that this forum is a really good thing and look forward to the sharing of information and ideas from other departments and individuals. I'm sure that I will be talking to everyone at one point in time or another (especially Dept 16 when I work the night shift!) Stay safe everyone.

Well, due to some start-up glitches, my original greeting has been lost I am Jeff Overdorff, Bradford County 911 Coordinator. I have lived in Bradford County all my life, growing up on Armenia Mountain and a graduate of Troy High School I began in EMS in 1990, volunteering for Troy Area Ambulance Association (back when they had EMS rescue). I served as assistant Captain before moving to Towanda. I became a first responder in 1991, EMT in 1992 and paramedic in 1994. I also have EVOC and 40 hour BVR. I work(ed) for Towanda Memorial hospital as a paramedic, starting in 1995. Although I have allowed my command to drop, due to time considerations with family and 911, I hope someday the dust will settle enough that I can actively run in the field again. I think this will be a GREAT way to share ideas and improve the excellence of service we provide from all disciplines of Emergency Services. I know many counties in the US have a similar forum/board. I have followed Luzerne County's from time-to-time. They deal with pretty much the same issues we do! www.luzernecounty911.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgiI look forward to hearing from everyone on this board with professional, respectful comments that we can all learn and grow from. Stay Safe. Jeff

Hi all, My name is Tammy Wuertzer and I run with the guys in Smithfield. I've been with the department for almost 5 years. I grew up in rural Iowa where my dad has been a volunteer firefighter for about 30years and is now chief. I didn't know that it was something I wanted to do until I became a member of the emergency crew at Dupont. I love doing it, and have made a lot of GREAT friends (kind of a surrogate family since I don't have any in the area). I think this is a great idea for exchanging ideas and helping each other out with issues, and keeping up to date on changes.

Hi I'm Larry Nichols fire chief of Smithfield Twp. Vol. fire dept. (Not East Smithfield Twp.) I join the dept in 1971 and have held all lineofficer positions and been Chief for 25+ years. Was a Emt and ran with Tri Twp amb for about 15 years and a Captain for 2 years but decided fire fighting was more interesting for me and faded out of the ems picture! So I think I have just about seen it all! I have my own farm and can be around to make most calls 24-7! My father and son are active in the dept so that makes 3 generations working in our dept. Tim I think this is a much better site then the yahoo and will be of great information trading back and forth and in the long run will improve the firefighting tactics of Bradford Co. which will benifit the people of our county!Lets all be safe and happy firefighting! Chief

Hey all! Scott Nichols here. Most of you know me, but for those who don't........ I started in emergency services here in 1994 with Dept 19 Windham. I'm still with them and spent 4 years as asst chief. I've been an EMT since 1996 with Windham EMS and Memorial EMS. Worked full-time at Memorial EMS for just under 5 years when I came up to the 911 center. I've been a dispatcher here, full and part-time, since 1999. I am preparing to leave the area for a few years to return to the US Army and finish my career there. In the mean time, I'll be more than happy to voice my opinions here! Take care.

Hi Bill Manville here. I have been with the fire service since I retired from the Navy in 1985. A little to old to do the ypung buck stuff so I play at safety Officer to try to keep the young ones out of trouble. Been DuPont1 since 1996 and could not ask for a better group of people than our response team. They may not have a lot of experience but they sure try hard. This looks like it will be a good site. Thanks ;D
