Hello, my name is David Weaver. Some of you may know me already. I used to be one of the guys from across the street from BCR that used to stop in now and then and harass everyone... If you don't know who I am, I am a State Trooper and have been so for almost eight years. I was originally stationed in Towanda and was there for about four and a half years. My time there gave me the opportunity to get to know alot of the people in the Fire and EMS services and I must say, you folks are a cut above from what I've seen since I left Bradford County. Yeah, sure, we have a great number of Departments in Luzerne County, but taking into consideration the ones I've dealt with down here, the members of the varied Services in Bradford County far out-perform most of the ones down here. I was introduced to your bulletin board by one of the dispatchers at BCR, and I must say you are a pretty spirited bunch online ;D It kinda brings back memories of being there at a scene with some of you... Anyway, I thought I would register and let you all know what a great job I think you've all done and will hopefully continue to do in the future. Stay safe.

Dave,
Welcome aboard loser. I can say for my department you are missed up here. I was nice to have a "officer" in the county that you could have fun with. It made our job a lot more enjoyable at the scene. You were a good friend to have up here. You should move you shifflis but back up here.
Hope all is well with your family.
Stay safe dude

Who said you were wanted back up here? ;D Maybe Kim would let you stay at the fire station that way you wouldn't have to drive an hour and a half. Then again, maybe he would let you stay at his house. he is pretty lonely since his son Kolly Moved out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, I'm the younger/better looking Bill Kneebone in the fire service. I've been in the fire service for 7 years with Athens Township Dept. 24 starting out as another junior firefighter/truck washing technician. I've moved up to the current position Athens Township 7-second Lt. I am also a 7 year member of Greater Valley EMS where I am an EMT, Special Vehicle Rescue Tech, RIT firefighter and also hold a certification for SCUBA diver although I'm not really active in the diving. Last but not least I am also a member of the Watkins Glen International Fire Rescue Team. I am currently trying to become a career firefighter although it is a long hard road to do so and as a matter of fact I am testing in Montgomery County Maryland on Monday the 11th--wish me luck, I'll need it!! I think this is a great site and look forward to sharing opinions and experiences with everybody.

Hi all, I'm back and so far, I passed. 96% Now for the hard part. Waiting for a phone call. First Bill, Congrats on passing your written exam in Montgomery County MD. I took the test on the 17th and also passed. I do not understand when you said 96%. Mont. Co does not give you a score. It is a pass/fail with the cutoff at 72%. You will receive a letter with your score ranked not in Mont. Co., but ranked with anyone who has took the CWI test within the last year. (Arlington VA just gave the same test on the 23rd) Keep up the good work it will be worth it. I took Montgomery's written test last time in Oct 03 and made it through the oral exam, background checks etc. I was not selected for recruit class 23 that started in June. They extended the list and made those of us not choosen for class 23 good for class 24 slated to start 12/13/04. I received a conditional job offer on 10/18/04. Passed my medical on 10/22/04 and now await CPAT on 11/20/04. If as goes well, I will report to recuit class 24 on 12/13 @ 0700. I have made repeated trips down there and put over 4000 miles since since 12/04 (I attend CPAT training) and I thought the "best" job would never come. Again Congrats to all who applied. A little bit about myself. I have been in the fire service for roughly 14 years and have vollied at some larger departments to see some action, but nothing beats being at my home department. I currently am a millwright/welder and I live in the Annville area (10 miles east of Hersey) My father and I own the old Ellenton general store in Ellenton since 1996. The place was in great disrepair, but we got it liveable. We use it for a hunting camp or just to get away. If you ever drive by and see anyone there, stop by for a beer or coffee. Whoever is there is probaly also a firefighter and we enjoy the company. I am in the process of becoming a career fireman in Maryland. Great site here for Bradford departments. Good to keep up with this site just in case I ever need fire protection. I think Canton and Shunk would be first due.
