First Bill, Congrats on passing your written exam in Montgomery County MD. I took the test on the 17th and also passed. I do not understand when you said 96%. Mont. Co does not give you a score. It is a pass/fail with the cutoff at 72%.
When I was told that I passed the test, I asked the worker if there was any way that I could know anymore about my test score. He took me over to the graders and asked if I could see my test. I was not allowed to see the test after I was finished for cheating reasons I guess, but the grader did let me know that I got about a 96% and she was not allowed to release any more information. In reference to the the question on where to find about when and where the tests are given, I found out about the MD test through a flyer that I was given by a friend. A lot of the fire dept. related web sites have information regarding fire testing including firehouse.com. I do know that Chesterfield County VA is testing and hiring. I went to their test last year did very well on the written and the physical tests, got called for the interview and that was it. Even though I did not get hired, it was a very good experience and I would recomend it to anybody that is even thinking of entering the fire service on a professional level.

Hey Bradford County. My name is Aaron LeVan currently residing in Charlotte, NC. I am a former member of the Ulster Sheshequin Fire Assoc and former paramedic of Greater Valley EMS and Memorial EMS. I am currently a firefighter in Charlotte, NC. The city has 38 engine companies, 18 ladder compainies, 2 heavy rescues, and 2 has-mat units. The city runs 80,000+ calls a year and engine 15 (to which i'm assigned) is the bussiest engine co. south of Washington DC. I am also a rescue tech at the Lowes motor speedway. This is a great site for me to keep in touch with the friends i had to leave behind and for me to add some insight of how we may do things differently here in Charlotte. Y'all be safe.

Bill, How is the fire career going at Montgomery Co. MD going? I know they stated doing oral interviews. Have you heard anything? BTW Bill, if you need an info on Montgomery Co, I may be able to help. I got hired for recruit class 24 that starts on 12/13/04. If you need a place to stay an evening in Mont.MD for your interview, let me know via this site or PM me. We (5 of us in class 24 from central PA) have a townhome in Gaithersburg we are renting during the academy. GOOD LUCK!!

Hello, my name is Andy Wilson. I am a paramedic with Greater Valley EMS. I also run with Montrose Minute Men EMS as a medic. I also run with GVEMS rescue.
I began in EMS as a junior member with GVEMS in 1998. I became an EMT in Feb. 99 and continued to run as a Junior Member until Sept. 99 until i became 18. I volunteered during Paramedic school and graduated in 2001. I obtained my rescue tech card in summer of 2004. Began operating as a medic in summer 2002 and then became a per diem employee. I worked in the ED at RPH for a little while prior to going to Montrose. I also worked at Western EMS for a period of time. Currently, I am looking at going back to school for a degree in Emergency Medicine.

Well - this looks like a good place to add my two cents. One Andy following another is a good thing - right? My name is Andrew Phillips, but most everyone knows me as "Pastor Andy". I am an ordained minister and pastoring the Berrytown Wesleyan Church (Berrytown is halfway between Gillett and Bentley Creek). Fall 2001 I got enrolled in a First Responder course and then joined Tri-Towship Ambulance - Ridgebury Division. Since then I have been ambulance crew, fire scene gopher and driver, and all around chaplain for the two. In December 2004 I passed my EMT (hence the 9Tech9). I am currently able to drive the tankers, rescue, and ambulance, but I want to get essentials and get more involved. So much to learn - so little time! I'm looking forward to trading ideas back and forth.

Hello. Jason Boatman here and I'm with the Herrickville Fire Co. Yes, we do still exist out here, and no, contrary to popular belief, we do not still run with horses and wagons (though sometimes I wonder, driving the old tanker ;D )! Anyway, glad I could climb aboard here. Looking forward to picking up a few pointers here and there. Catch you all later.

I changed my name b/c this woman from EMS village was stalking me. She likes to track down emt's & firefighters, and trace their every move. She found me on yahoo, and tried to get people to call the police in her area to say she was taking an OD. I swear, I'm a freak magnet! I am now Greenthirty2. That goes for AIM too. I also had to remove my name so she can't find where I am from.

Hello, all. My name is Percy L. Frazier, and I belong to Franklin Twp. V.F.D. I'm currently in the process of switching my role with the department from active firefighter to fire police. I'm married with 5 children, and I'm looking forward to meeting you all very much. After all, we're all on the same side, right?

Hi Everyone. I am just a volunteer fireman thats been around for a few years and I am here to discuss the burning issues that have our attention as a county, state and service as a whole. Its not important that you know who I am because I am not here to cause trouble or slander anyone in any way, only to discuss real issues. I have received a few private messages from some of you to reveal my identity, this will not happen. I am not here to get in a personal match of wit or knowledge with someone who has a beef with whomever. See you on the streets.

Gentlemen, welcome to cyberspace! This board gives us the option of Identity or Anonymity. I have noticed a degree of interest from some members for Flamethrower to ID himself. Flamethrower chose Anonymity lets respect his or her choice and move on.
